A classic video of my beloved aunt winding up her first born at Xmas. Sue was and has always been a light of my life. Her playful spirit shined through to the end. She was eternally a cool aunt. I love her dearly. Crikey blimey! Also we shared a weird phobia called lotus pod phobia. It's weird. I'll miss talking to her about it. But mostly I'll miss her xxx xxx

First encounter

I had known Sue for about 39 years and went to the same University of Westminster (formerly PCL) as she attended, then worked at the same college, namely Bexley College. When she left to work at North West Kent College, I also began employment there.

Sue always struck me as a principled and humble soul. If she thought there was injustice and inequalities affecting people then she would address such issues. She always harboured high ethical standards and that dictated her way of life.

I had the privilege of knowing Sue, I first met Sue in 2015 when I and others joined Corbyns Labour Party, when we left we stayed friends with Sue running our book club for sometime Sue was good company with always a story to tell us, Sue will be sadly missed.

Sue enjoyed our Red Boots Walking Group rambles. We will miss you so much xx

The one about her hearing

One of my favourite stories of my dear daft mum is from her teaching career. As she got older, she started to lose her hearing in one ear but, as she was eternally young, she didn’t want her students to know this. In lesson one day, her students were having a discussion and she couldn’t hear them properly so asked them to speak up. When one student asked her about her hearing and why she couldn’t hear them, she promptly and without hesitation replied that she had lost hearing in one ear as she had been in a war zone…
